Warm fall colors – at The Boylston Rooms, Easthampton
Dallas and Jessee were all about the terracotta colors at their warm fall wedding at The Boylston Rooms in Easthampton. I’d describe their warm-toned, seasonal wedding florals as cozy, seasonal, and elegant. All photos are by Bug and June Photo. Location: The Boylston Rooms, Easthampton. I used several different dahlias in Dallas’s bouquet, including a couple of my favorite soft orange blooms, Labyrinth and Jowey Linda, Added some nice orange roses, some beautiful peach and cream lisianthus I got from Old Friends Farm, a few heirloom chrysanthemums and some soft blue-green eucalyptus and ta da! Proof that an all-orange wedding bouquet is anything but uniform. The couple’s friends and family…

Summer color and summer joy at Gedney Farm in the Berkshires
Julia and Adam were not afraid of lots of colorful blooms for their early fall Berkshires wedding, and that was a good thing because September is peak flower season in New England! When people think of “fall flowers” I think they think of orange and red tones, but the reality is our fall flowers – especially dahlias – come in all tones! And since I plant about 50 different varieties of dahlias every year, there’s lots of color to choose from. The wedding location is Gedney Farm, in New Marlborough, Massachusetts. The photographer for this happy couple is Chelsea Proulx. Julia’s instructions for me in regards to her bouquet (and…

Bright and sunny summer wedding at the Boylston Rooms
When I was setting up the arch installation for Caitlyn and Justin’s wedding, someone – probably photographer Trish Kemp – said it was pretty and sunny, just like the bride’s personality. I thought this was so sweet! And since I already knew Caitlyn (as did Trish) before she hired me to do her wedding flowers, I agree! All photos of Caitlyn, Justin, and their friends are by Trish Kemp Photography. Location: the ever beautiful The Boylston Rooms, Easthampton. Summer flowers give us all the variety we could ask for in a wedding bouquet, and Caitlyn’s bouquet was no exception. I used sunflowers, light blue tweedia (I started seeds in February!),…

Springtime wedding in the Berkshires: Eisner Camp, Great Barrington
Amira and Nathan’s wedding at URJ Eiener Camp at Great Barrington was long-awaited! My 2nd to last reschedule of the covid years, it was so wonderful to see all their friends and family convene on the spacious and historical grounds of this Berkshire summer camp. A few notes: Photos (except noted) taken by Danielle of Salty Raven Studio. Location: UJR Eisner Camp, Great Barrington, MA. Planner: Aligned Events Flowers: me! The couple’s flowers were largely in shades of light purples, and almost entirely farm-grown and seasonal. Lavender was a special request of the bride, so I put it in everything – the bouquet, the boutonniere, and even in plant form…

Fundraiser Flowers!
You may not know this about me, but I haven’t always been a flower farmer and designer. I spent 17 years working in (mostly) public schools and also founded and have been running a nonprofit to help families impacted by a neurobehavioral disorder (FAFASD) for the past 10 years. I’ve always volunteered, organized, and donated to causes I believe in. My work has always been more than “just” about making money. One of the core values of my flower farming business has been giving back whenever possible. I’m really proud of the fact that as my business has grown and for the first time in my life I’ve had some…

Classic burgandy, blush, and pops of pink for fall – at Valley View Farm in Haydenville
Annie and Kevin’s wedding flowers were in a very classic color scheme: burgandy and blush with pops of pink for fun. Annie wanted a draping bridal bouquet, so I used weeping amaranth as well as foliage to create the shape. All photos by Kelly F. Peterson Photography. Location: Valley View Farm, Haydenville MA. I love how her bridesmaids’s gowns are all different styles! Because they were married in the fall I was able to take advantage of dahlia season. I spy lots of ‘black magic’ dahlias as well as several white varieties. The draping, wispy foliage here is called “agonis.” The pavilion ceremony space at Valley View farm was decorated…

Orchard themed wedding at the historic Fruitlands Museum
Fruitlands is a gorgeous historical orchard in Harvard, MA, and was the site of an intentional community created by Louisa May Alcott’s father and their friends in the mid 19th century. It has walking trails, gardens, lots of information and artifacts about Transcendentalism, and it’s also the site of many a wedding, including Elizabeth and Herbert’s very colorful affair this past August! I LOVE the photos from this wedding. One reason is because Elizabeth and Herbert wanted COLOR for their flowers, and I love color. When we first talked they didn’t give me a color scheme, exactly, but a list of colors they liked, which I loosely translated into “the…

Sweet summer pastels at Valley View Farm in Haydenville
A beautiful day, beautiful location, and a beautiful couple! Christina and Cameron were married at the peak of summer at Valley View Farm, in Haydenville, one of my favorite locations to flower! They wanted lots of colors – which I love – and lots of variety – which I also love – and as many locally grown blooms as possible – LOVE! All photos of this wedding were captured by Matthew Cavanaugh Photography. Christina’s bouquet featured the very first of my dahlias, plus lisianthus, snapdragons, delphinium, celosia, and a few roses and eucalyptus thrown in for good measure. We built this custom hexagonal arch for the two of them –…

Wedding flowers for two “planty people” at Quonquont Farm
Michele and Graham are what I like to call “planty people.” Both work in horticulture. Both love plants. And so when they asked me to do their personal flowers for their September wedding at Quonquont Farm in Whateley, but said they planned on creating their centerpieces themselves using buckets of DIY flowers, I was happy to oblige. And when they asked if they could create these centerpieces themselves in my shed…well, I wouldn’t have let just anyone do it! But I was happy to let these two do it! (And actually, I might let more people do it in the future because we they had such a great time!
