Colorful spring flowers at a Gedney Farm wedding
R and D were married on a perfect late spring day at Gedney Farm in the Berkshires. Warm and breezy, surrounded by green!

R’s request for flowers: colorful, garden-inspired, seasonal, not too much but certainly not too little. Easy to do when it’s the season for peonies, cress, and daffodils!

R’s maids had flowers similar to hers but smaller and simpler. I love how the light and dark blues of the delphinium mirror, but don’t exactly match, their dresses. Makes the whole vision seem effortless and casual, but still special and sweet.

Posies tied to aisle chairs are another floral touch that adds a bit of whimsy and fun and special-ness.

Gedney has a gorgeous tree in its outside ceremony space and I created large urns of flowering branches and flowers in all the colors to frame R+ D as they got married. This time of year was truly a perfect time to fill these urns – my wiegela and spirea were in full bloom and the baptisia, allium, peonies, delphinium, and ninebark made lush and lovely accompaniments to their wedding. After the ceremony the coordinators moved the urns to the sweetheart table inside – perfect!

Table arrangements were eclectic vases plus taper candles in hurricanes – no fuss, but special and lovely all the same. Do you sense a theme?

Congratulations to the happy couple! The wedding was gorgeous, but now for the best part: your marriage!
