A light, bright and (up in the) airy fall wedding at The Boylston Rooms
When I first met with Grace and Chris it was clear Grace had a vision for her wedding. She wanted her flowers to be unique – mainly orange, but not earthtones-of-fall-orange – orange and blue and white – with a very special element: balloons! Giant balloons! She showed me a picture of what she wanted and since I’m game for anything I said sure…but then was very relieved when she found a balloon specialist! All I needed to do was provide the flowers and foliage for the balloons, and voila – a super special tablescape was born.
All wedding florals are directly inspired and connected to the bridal bouquet. Since Grace and Chris were married in September – peak dahlia season- I several different orange and peach dahlias as the main flowers and accented these with bright blue gentian, “Hot Biscuits” amaranth, hydrangea, and a few spray roses for softness.I feel like Grace is saying: “Can you believe it? I just got married!” Chris and his groomsmen’s boutonnieres feature orange strawflowers. For the bridesmaid bouquets I used lisianthus in addition to dahlias, gentian, amaranth, and spray roses.Grace and Chris chose standing floor arrangements to complement the draped arch that served as their ceremony backdrop. The arrangements were repurposed as part of the table decoration for the reception. I used giant orange dahlias and hydrangea as the main floral elements.Because this was a 2020 wedding the guest list was small: just a single long farm table. I love how light and bright this looks.Congratulations to the happy couple! The wedding was gorgeous, but now for the best part: your marriage!
